I have been learning Chinese for a year. One year ago, I began to study in Chinese House when I came to Ningbo to work.

  For me, it is indeed a great experience and I got a lot of fun during this learning process. It is a very fantastic and brilliant thing to know the new and explore the unknown. Although Chinese is different from Japanese in word formation and gramma, the basic idea still can be perceived (Japanese characters originated from Chinese). Gradually, I have new perceptions about what I didn`t realize in Japan.

  Things change when they are in different places, so does language. But, as a Japanese, I don`t think so. Many Japanese think that it is easy to learn Chinese due to the same characters. My mother is no exception. She always says to me,” since you are learning Chinese in China, you must speak fluent Chinese now. hahaha..” She takes things too much for granted. Chinese is a very difficult language. How can I learn well in a short time?

  Firstly, pronunciation is different. If you don`t listen to it in a real speaking environment and don`t perceive it with yourself, you can`t master that skill. It is the same to grammar. My Japanese boss and friends always say,” no difference with English, right? It`s not a big problem.” Oh, no, totally the other way around!

  It is said there is no short-cut for study and I really agree with it. Study requires everyday effort. But people tend to be lazy, so do I. In order to overcome this shortcoming, my teacher, Miss Yu, is strict with me. Speaking of her teaching method, she tries to offer reality-grounded and effective way to help me master pronunciation, grammar, spoken Chinese and written Chinese. Now, I almost have no problems in daily communication. Thanks to Miss Yu, I have made great progress in Chinese.

  Some people believe that if the teacher is wise enough, then it is easier for the students to learn, which I don`t agree. Why? Because even if you speak poor Chinese, a wise teacher can understand you. Then you will not put great effort to learn it any more.

  Actually, learning Chinese is a challenge while I think challenge is very meaningful. Even if I failed, but I was still acknowledged by others that made me happy. Sometimes, Miss Yu, my friends and waiters in restaurants can`t understand me, they just laughed.

  Recently, Miss Yu has assigned much homework to me. If less, I will learn Chinese in an easier way and live happily everyday.

中国語の勉強を始めて一年が経過した。　一年前寧波転勤をきっかけとして唐元漢語で中国語学習を始めたが、私にとってはとてもうれしい誤算というか、よい経験になっている。　新しいこと、自分の未知の世界を知るというのは素晴らしい、素敵なことだと思う。　言葉、単語、文法の造り一つ一つに日本人とは違う根本的思想、あるいは同じ考え方（そもそも日本の漢字、ひらがななども中国大陸から伝わった）を感じとることができ、日本にいるときには気にしなかったようなことに気づかされる。　

所変われば品変わるというが、勿論言葉もそうである。　日本の人々というか、現に私がそうであったが、勘違いしている。　漢字がほぼ同じなので中国語は身に付け易いと思うのだ。　だからうちの母親など「あんた中国にいて学校で勉強してるんだからもうぺらぺらでしょ。　ははは」などと言ってくる。　アホである。　中国語は奥が深いのだ。　一朝一夕に身に付くものではない。

まず発音が違う。　日本の参考書によくひらがなで発音表記がしてあるが、あんなものは嘘っぱちだと気づかされる。　日本語で中国の発音を表記することは不可能である。　自分で感じ取るしかないのだろう。　あ、そうそう、文法も日本の上司など「英語と同じだから問題ないでしょ、ははは。」と言っていた。　それも嘘である。　全然ちがうやん。

学問に王道は無いというのは世間一般に言われることであり、実際のところそうだと思う。

日々の努力以外にないはずである。　しかし人間というのは弱いものであり、楽をしようとする、というか私は楽をしたい。　そのために於先生がきちんとみっちり教えてくれる。　彼女には彼女の（学校の）メソッド？教え方？そういうものがあり発音、文法、話し言葉、書き言葉、実践的役に立つ、非常に効率的な学習を提供してくれる。　現にあまり生活に困っていない。　於先生のおかげで私の中国語は上達したのだろう。

ただし、教える人が頭がよいと生徒は楽で、そういう意味では良くないのではないかと最近感じる。　というのも、こちらサイドが拙い中国語で話してもあちらサイドで十分理解してくれるため、あまり努力をしなくなってしまう。　そうすると人間は堕落が始まり、これではアカンと思う。　

中国語学習はひとつの挑戦であり、挑戦することは非常に意義のあることだと思う。　挑戦した上での失敗であれば自分も納得がいくし、自分自身が楽しい。　於先生も周りの友達も常に行く飯屋の店員も僕の言ってることが意味不明でも「はは、こいつアホや」の一言で一刀両断してくれるだろう。

でも最近ちょっと於先生の宿題が多いのでしんどいです。　もう少し甘くしてくれたらもうちょっと楽しく勉強できて、日々も快適に過ごせると思う。
